THE FILLMORE

I began illustrating music event posters for The Fillmore located in the San Francisco Bay area in 2004.

When sketching ideas for the posters, I listen to the music of the artist and read their song lyrics. I illustrate a specific song, combine stories from several songs or titles, or gather inspiration from repeated themes such as love and longing, or geographic identity.

The Fillmore became a center for counter culture in the early 1960’s, showcasing psychedelic music in the mid 60’s, and hosting blues, rock, and other musical genera up to present day.

Leased and operated by Live Nation since 2007, the venue has a capacity of 1,315 guests. Each guest is given a poster as a gift when attending a show.
